We use AI to:
Create pages and simple explanations of the law
Create case notes
All content is audited by human editors to ensure validity. Despite this, humans, as well as chatbots, are known to make errors; please email lexanglia@gmail.com if you would like to raise a correction
LexAnglia is a sole proprietorship and creating a website as extensive and ambitious as this with only one person is a lengthy and unrewarding process. AI can often provide better explanations of core concepts than a human, though in editing we have made omissions from the AI responses in order to cut through some of the fluff and ensure that only critical information remains.
We felt it would also be helpful to outline LexAnglia (John M. Wood)'s stance on AI:
AI should not be used creatively, thus there is no AI-generated art on this site
AI should not make decisions as it cannot be held accountable
AI should not be used when a human could do a better, or equal, job
We do feel that some good can come out of Generative AI, such as helping A-level and undergraduate students understand core concepts of Law, but there is a risk that this technology will only be used for the benefit of the few, not the many.
